Built in 1564!!!!….can you believe it? And recommended in over a dozen guide books this is Edinburgh's most historic, and the original, backpacker hostel. We are located in the heart of the OLD TOWN close to the CASTLE, the NIGHT-LIFE and the bus, airport bus and train stations. FOR TWENTY YEARS WE HAVE CATERED TO AROUND 300,000 WORLD TRAVELLERS (not all at the same time obviously :-)), we know what people like, cleanliness, great facilities, comfy feel and especially…. a great vibe!! (you won't find any IKEA furniture here! nor any high-school groups) Come and enjoy your holiday at this backpacker home from home. Hey, we also have a vast jobs notice-board for you travellers getting short on cash. ...and most mornings the MACBACKPACKERS busses leave from our door-stepfor the Highlands should you want to visit Nessie or the Isle of Skye etc
